I own Papercraft Clubhouse, the largest mixed media, stamping, die-cutting and scrapbooking store in Connecticut. These are my musings on art journaling, scrapping, stamping, owning my own business and life in general.
I am thrilled to announce that Shari Carroll will be teaching at the Clubhouse on Friday, October 19th. Shari is a fabulous teacher and designer. I have had the pleasure of taking classes with her for several years now. She has worked for Hero Arts for over 20 years and is certified by Ranger and Copic. Shari is a fountain of knowledge and a fabulous source of inspiration!
Shari will be teaching two workshops on October 19th. First up is "Now Cut That Out... Holiday" from 4-6pm. In this workshop you will be working with Hero Arts stamps, Sizzix dies and more to create 6 wonderful holiday cards. Next up is "Clean and Simple... Holiday" from 7-9pm. Shari will inspire you as you make 6 terrific holiday cards (different from the first class).
Sign ups will begin immediately. Each workshop is $40. Please bring your regular tool kit (scissors, adhesive roller and glue dots, pencil, and lots of foam dots...)
The latest line from Bo-Bunny, Camp-A-Lot, is TERRIFIC! There are jars of fireflies, campfires, tents, fishing poles and more. This line has rich greens, browns and yellows and will be great for family camping or summer camp photos. Check out the rest of it on Bo Bunny's blog.

Take a break this summer and join Papercraft Clubhouse, Right at Home Scrapbooking and The Inspiration Station for a fun-filled “summer camp” day of shopping, demos and fun! On Sunday, August 19th the camp bus will pull up at each of these three fabulous stores. After roll call you and your fellow campers will join your counselor for a fun and adventure packed journey! This is a unique trip since you will travel to both Massachusetts and Connecticut stores on the same day. Don't be left behind!
You will start your day at your home store with a continental breakfast and some quick shopping. You’ll then board the bus and begin your journey. Games (and did we mention prizes?) will keep you busy while in transit.
At each store you will receive a gift, discounted shopping and demos prepared especially for you. You will have ample time to find out what makes each of these stores so special, make some new friends, and, of course, do some shopping before boarding the camp bus and heading to your next stop. Lunch will be served.
A limited number of seats are available at each location. Tickets must be purchased in advance from your host store (this is the store where you will start and end your journey). The cost of this fun day is only $65, payable at the time of your registration. This fee is non-refundable unless the store has a wait list.
We're also excited to offer an early bird special. If you register prior to July 15th you will receive a package full of patterned papers, cardstock stickers, die-cuts and more the day of the bus tour...and this is in addition to the other gifts you'll be getting!
Registration is open! Please call the Clubhouse at 860-399-4443 to sign up!
Lisa and I had a blast playing with Dyan Reaveley's new products at the Collins show a few weeks ago. We each took a different class and did a great little make and take with Dyan. Her stamps, stencils and super-colorful sprays from Ranger have arrived at the Clubhouse and we can't wait 'til you see them. As Dyan would say in her adorable English accent, they're just "luhv-ly"! Check out some of Dyan's playful work here.
In addition to Dyan's stencils, we've brought in many new stencil designs from Jaime Echt, Victoria Case and Julie Fei-Fan Balzer, all of whom design for The Crafter's Workshop. Check out their latest releases here.
Here's what I made in class with Dyan and finished at home:
This past weekend I was able to spend time with fellow store owners and lots of terrific vendors at the Collins Group Spring Show for Retailers. I was inspired by so many terrific classes and workshops, as were Lisa and Carol. We can't wait to share all that we've learned with you!
I spent many hours with Charee and Sean from Graphic 45 and I enjoyed every minute! We completed one fabulous project, an album featuring Tropical Travelogue.
The other project is a special sign for the store featuring Curiousity Shoppe. I am not quite done, but watch for it soon.
Meanwhile, here are some great project samples from G45's booth:
Below I'm hanging with Karen Burniston of Sizzix. She makes the most amazing Pop n' Cuts Dies for cards, and her passion for paper engineering is catching! They are "simple, interchangeable and coordinated!" Check out one of her videos here and a sample of one of her cards below. Lisa and I are really excited about them because all the Movers and Shapers dies we already own will fit in the pop up card die. They should be arriving at the store mid-April.
I also took classes with Hero Arts and Bo Bunny, Elizabeth Craft Designs, 7 Gypsies, Canvas Corp, Copic Marker, Creative Imaginations and Cheryl Mezzetti... the list goes on and on! Stop by the store and see my projects... some are still works in progress, but I know you'll be inspired.
Jackie and I also took classes at a different retailer show in York, PA about two weeks ago. Jackie and I are teaching this Friday night using techniques we learned from our class with Stampendous - the products all arrived today! Meanwhile, here are some beautiful samples by Stampendous that caught our eye.

Carol has updated her Card Keepsake Album with great new papers and colors and I couldn't be more excited about this class! You can make a terrific keepsake for yourself or anyone on your list for just $30. Plus, you'll have the know-how to make many more of these terrific albums.
Each tabbed and labeled page (this is June) has a flexible pocket for holding cards and a place to record the name and date of that month's special occasions. It's pretty, it's practical, it's awesome. We hope you will join us on 12/11 from noon to 3pm and make this special book!
